Waltrina Stancell, LPC – Therapist

I am an independently licensed clinician in Washington DC, Maryland, and Virginia. I have over ten years of experience in mental health and addictions counseling. I am a graduate of Howard University and Boston University School of Medicine. I specialize in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I use a person-centered approach emphasizing the importance of the therapist/client relationship, along with a cognitive behavioral approach to explore the thought patterns related to the challenging emotions and behaviors.

I provide a warm and safe environment for clients to process their thoughts and feelings and works collaboratively to identify and mediate stressors. I am also a strong advocate for self-care and guide clients in understanding the importance of caring for themselves amid managing phase of life issues.
