Chris D’Arpa

Chris D’Arpa joined the Healthy Foundation Group team in September 2022 while pursuing his Master of Social Work from the University of Maryland. He is specializing in clinical behavioral health with a concentration in Substance Use Disorders. He is getting further training through his experiences as a part of the Substance Use Disorder Intervention Fellows (SUDIF). His undergraduate education background is in public policy and social justice.

Prior to his work with the Healthy Foundations Group, Chris worked as a Rehabilitation Counselor for a residential integrated treatment program for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. In this role, Chris worked with clients impacted by a variety of mental health concerns such as Major Depressive Disorder, Schizophrenia, Bipolar I and II, etc.

Chris utilizes a person-centered approach to help his clients work towards goals determined by them. He works with evidence-based modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing. Chris values a strong therapeutic alliance and works to build trust and collaboration throughout the therapeutic process.
