Dr. Nida Muzaffar received her Bachelor’s degrees in both Biology and Psychology from University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC); Master’s degree from University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ), and Doctor of Medicine degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine (SGU). She is triple trained in Pediatrics, Adult Psychiatry, and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry. She completed her Pediatric residency at Nassau University Medical Center (NUMC) in Long Island, NY, and practiced as a Pediatrician for a short time before doing a combined fellowship (Post Pediatric Portal Program) where she trained as an adult and child/adolescent psychiatrist at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center (UHCMC) affiliated with Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine (CWRU) in Cleveland, Ohio.
After finishing her fellowship, Dr. Muzaffar moved back to Maryland where she grew up and has joined Healthy Foundations Group where she will see both children/adolescents and adults as a Psychiatrist. She is experienced in treating a variety of conditions including ADHD, anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, specific women’s mental health issues, and issues related to adolescents transitioning into adulthood. Having a background in pediatrics, she treats children with the perspective that some conditions may have underlying medical causes or may just be normal aspects of development. Dr. Muzaffar enjoys treating people from all walks of life and cultures and focuses on understanding the person as a whole. She collaborates closely with clients and their families to create holistic personalized treatments of care. Besides English, she also speaks Hindi/Urdu fluently.
