Christopher Bartley, M.D., Ph.D.

Dr. Bartley received his B.S. from Yale University in 2004. He received his Ph.D. in Neurobiology in 2014 from Yale University, where he studied molecular pathways in monogenetic autism spectrum disorders. He graduated with his M.D. from Yale School of Medicine in 2015 and completed his residency in Adult Psychiatry in 2019 at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). He completed a clinical fellowship at UCSF in behavioral immunology, where he studied autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorders. While at UCSF, he also spent seven years in the bipolar specialty clinic.
Dr. Bartley is board certified in Psychiatry and licensed in California and Maryland. Dr. Bartley serves as a consultation provider for Healthy Foundations Group for adults with complex medical comorbidities, primarily those with known or suspected autoimmune disorders. Dr. Bartley also provides consultations for patients with bipolar disorder.
Consultations are spread over two 1-hour appointments. Prior to your first consultation, Dr. Bartley will request and review the patient’s entire medical record. The first consultation appointment is used to gather additional history and perform a physical exam for those patients seen in person. Family and loved ones are encouraged to attend to provide additional history. The second consultation appointment occurs 2 – 6 weeks after the first appointment and is used to provide a comprehensive case formulation and recommendations. At the patient’s request, a letter detailing Dr. Bartley’s formulation and recommendations will be provided to the patient’s regular provider.
