Tahani Alqassem, M.D. was born and raised in Saudi Arabia up until age 23. She completed her General Psychiatry Residency at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center, Tufts University School Of Medicine and her Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship at Children’s National Medical Center & George Washington University. She completed a second fellowship training in the field of Consultation and Liaison in Psychiatry at the combined program at Georgetown University and National Institute of Mental Health. She is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Adult Psychiatry and Child & Adolescent Psychiatry.
She has worked with Medstar Georgetown University, and joined the faculty of Georgetown University Medical School as an assistant professor. She has also worked at the Psychiatric Institute of Washington.
Dr. Alqassem’s primary focus is treating children with anxiety, depression, ADHD, & mood disorders as well as adults and children with psychological issues related to medical problems.
