Fiona Fox received a BA in Anthropology from Harvard University. She completed both a Masters in Social Work and a Doctorate in Medicine at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She did her psychiatry residency training at Georgetown University Hospital where she served as Chief Resident. She is an Assistant Professor on the clinical faculty at the Georgetown University School of Medicine and has years of experience teaching medical students and residents.
Dr. Fox has worked in private practice and community mental health settings as well as for many years at the Washington, DC Veterans Affairs Medical Center. She has extensive experience in treating mood, anxiety, psychotic, attentional, and trauma spectrum disorders. She has also completed training in medical acupuncture and is a regular volunteer with Acupuncture Without Borders. She believes the best patient outcomes are achieved from both individualized and holistic approaches that combine attention to lifestyle factors (sleep, nutrition, exercise), psychotherapy, complementary medical treatments, and medications when needed.
