Diane L. Lawrence, PMHNP-BC, received her Bachelors of Science and Masters of Science, specializing in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from the University of Maryland School of Nursing, Baltimore. Since 1995 she has worked as a Psychiatric Nurse in a wide variety of mental health and emergency room settings. In addition to private practice, she works in psychiatric research as Nurse Educator for Behavioral Health at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda MD.
Ms. Lawrence has been serving the Baltimore/Washington DC area as a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner since 2005. She has experience working with children and families in a wide range of treatment facilities with a variety of disorders, specifically ADHD, anxiety, depression, substance use, psychosis and autism spectrum disorders. She supports the judicious use of pharmocotherapy in conjunction with other evidence based therapies and has been trained in Brief Strategic Family Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She pursued her Nurse Practitioner license due to the dearth of practitioners available to address the specific mental health issues of children as well a general over reliance on medication as the sole approach to treatment.
Diane sees patients at our Westminster Office.
